The Revelstoke Acrobats has been teaching kids to flip since the 80’s!

We are a non-profit club with a large recreational program and a highly successful competitive team. At our current capacity we are offering recreational gymnastics to over 150 kids in our community. We are open seven days a week, offering classes from toddlers to teens. We are full with waitlists for our programs. We provide birthday parties to the community, SD19 classes with field trip opportunities, the kindergartners and weekly open gym time for students with high needs. We offer summer camps to both recreational and competitive athletes. We offer opportunities for our teen athletes to become coaches, employing six students this season!

We have 28 athletes on our team this season, which is the third largest competitive team in the province. We compete three to six times a year at provincial and national — and some years even international — levels.

We thank the community for their continued support!

Coaches

Jill Drake

Hi, My name is Jill and I am the Head Coach of the Revelstoke Acrobats.

My introduction to gymnastics started at the age of five in Nova Scotia. It was there that I developed a passion for artistic gymnastics, competing actively throughout my high school years. The discipline, artistry, and camaraderie of the sport shaped my formative years and instilled a lifelong love for movement and athleticism. At twelve years old, I took my first steps into coaching.

I attended Dalhousie University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. My studies provided a solid foundation in human movement, anatomy, and sports science, skills that have proved invaluable in both my coaching and athletic careers.

After university, my husband and I left Nova Scotia to travel, embracing new cultures and experiences. Our journey led us to Japan, where we spent five enriching years. The exposure to different perspectives broadened my horizons, both personally and professionally.

Upon returning to Canada with a new baby, we discovered Revelstoke—a place that quickly felt like home. In 2012, I was introduced to the Acrobats, and soon after, I was hired. It was here that I found a new passion: trampoline gymnastics. The energy, excitement, and technical challenges of trampoline captivated me, and I haven't looked back since.

Since 2017, I have served as the head coach in Revelstoke, guiding athletes and fostering a supportive, dynamic club environment. My commitment to professional development led me to achieve Level 3 certification as a trampoline coach.

I am honoured to have become the technical chair of British Columbia, working to advance the sport province-wide. This role allows me to advocate for athletes, coaches, and clubs, ensuring the continued growth and excellence of trampoline gymnastics in BC.

I am immensely proud of our club and the achievements of our athletes. Watching their progress and sharing in their successes is deeply rewarding. As I reflect on my journey—from Nova Scotia to Revelstoke, from gymnast to coach and leader—I feel incredibly fortunate. I am, indeed, a lucky lady.

-Jill Drake, Head Coach Revelstoke Acrobats Club

Hi! I’m Maryjoy, although pretty much everyone around Revelstoke knows me as MJ (don't let my mother know!). I’m the tumbling coach at Revelstoke Acrobats and have been part of this awesome club for nearly three years.

I grew up in Australia doing artistic gymnastics, but I was also that kid who was always on the go—competing in athletics, cross-country running, playing futsal and soccer. Life was busy, sporty, and full of movement, which hasn't really changed much as now I'm keeping up with my children!

Originally, I came to BC chasing the ski bum dream (as one does) and totally fell in love with the mountains, the seasons, and the amazing community in Revelstoke. Fast forward over 10 years, and my partner Declan and I now have three beautiful kids—two daughters and a brand new baby boy.

My coaching journey started when Jill spotted our eldest daughter in a Parent & Tot class and encouraged me to get involved. From there, I haven’t looked back. I love coaching, learning alongside such a strong mentor like Jill, and being part of the vibrant and supportive gym community.

Revelstoke Acrobats is such a special place, and I feel lucky to be a part of it, sharing my love of movement, flipping, and having fun with the next generation of athletes.

Mario Bruno

My name is Mario Bruno, and my roots run deep in Kamloops, British Columbia. Growing up surrounded by the scenic landscapes of the Thompson Valley, I found my passion for gymnastics at the Kamloops Gymnastics and Trampoline Centre (KGTC). It was at KGTC that I first discovered the excitement and discipline of artistic gymnastics, and soon after, I was introduced to the world of trampoline. This pivotal moment set the course for my athletic journey.

My dedication to trampoline led me to compete at the highest levels competing for Canada. My last major competition was at the World Championships in Japan in 2017. There, I concluded my competitive career with a proud 4th place finish, marking both a personal milestone and the culmination of many years of hard work and perseverance. After retiring from competitive sport nine years ago, I have cherished the memories and growth that gymnastics and trampoline brought into my life.

Since stepping away from competition, I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching and leading athletes, helping them reach their fullest potential both in and out of the gym. Guiding young gymnasts and trampolinists has been a rewarding chapter, allowing me to impart knowledge, inspire confidence, and foster a love for sport in the next generation.

Away from the tumbling mats and trampolines, I am passionate about the outdoors. Snowboarding down powdery slopes, teeing off at local golf courses, and hunting in the Canadian wilderness are among the activities that bring balance and excitement to my life. These pursuits reflect my love for adventure and connection with nature.

In January 2026, I made the move to Revelstoke. Settling in Revelstoke has been an enjoyable transition, offering fresh opportunities to explore, grow, and contribute to the local sports scene. I am looking forward to another season with the Acrobats, eager to support athletes and continue sharing my passion for gymnastics and trampoline.

From Kamloops to Revelstoke, my journey has been shaped by sport, mentorship, and adventure. I am grateful for the experiences and excited for what lies ahead with the Acrobats and within the greater Revelstoke community.

-Mario Bruno, Assistant to Head Coach

I am a Level 1 coach, and I was born and raised in Revelstoke. Prior to starting my gymnastics journey, I was a competitive figure skater.  I practiced both gymnastics and skating before deciding to solely focus on gymnastics.

I started my gymnastics journey in the tumbling program when I was nine.  I moved over to the rec program for one season and then onto the competitive team for trampoline.

I have been competing since 2019, and over the last two years I have started my journey in coaching.

I graduated high school in June of 2025 and am now working as a regular coach along side our head coach, Jill Drake.

Kenadie Stefura

Hi! My name is Kenadie Stefura, and I am proud to share my story as an athlete who has been part of the Acrobats for the past decade. Through dedication and persistence, I have grown alongside this incredible sport, which has been a central part of my life.

Last year, I celebrated an important milestone by graduating from RSS. This achievement marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter as I continued to pursue my passion for trampoline gymnastics at a higher level.

Currently, I am honoured to represent as a Team BC National team member. My commitment to the sport has driven me to train rigorously and compete at the national level, where I recently placed second at the Canadian Nationals. This result has only fuelled my determination, and I am focused on earning a spot on Team Canada in the coming seasons.

Trampoline gymnastics has given me so much, and I have found immense joy in giving back to the community. I love sharing my passion for the sport with young athletes, inspiring and mentoring the next generation. Last year, I achieved my Level 1 coaching certification, which has allowed me to start coaching and supporting athletes in their own journeys. My goal is to continue developing as a coach and to pursue further certification, ensuring I am able to contribute to the sport both as a competitor and a mentor.

As I continue this journey, I am excited for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. My focus remains on pushing my athletic limits, representing my province and, hopefully soon, my country on the international stage. At the same time, I am committed to fostering a love of trampoline gymnastics in others, helping young athletes discover their own potential through sport.

Thank you for supporting me on this incredible journey!.
